Today is celebrated as the International dog day. Lets see some fun facts about dogs 

  1.  A recent study shows that dogs are among a small group of animals who show voluntary unselfish kindness towards others without any reward. 
  2.  A dog’s nose print is unique, much like a human being's fingerprint. 
  3.  A dog’s sense of smell is noteworthy, it as 300 million receptors while human beings have only 5 million. A dog with longer face means it would have a longer life. 
  4. Tapetum lucidum present in dogs' eyes enable them night vision. 
  5.  Sound of a human yawn make your dog Yawn too. It is 4 times more possible with a known person's yawn 
  6.  Dogs curl up in a the shape of a ball when sleeping to protect their organs—a  memory from their ancestors in the wild, when they were vulnerable to predator attacks. 
  7.  When petting a dog, both the human and the dog experience high blood pressure going down. 
  8.  Dogs are not entirely colorblind, other than black and white, they can also see yellow and blue. 
  9.  Dogs have about 1,700 taste buds which is lesser than what humans have (2,000–10,000.) 
  10. When dogs kick backward after they go to the bathroom they don't do it to cover up their poo, but they do it to mark their territory using the scent glands in their feet.
